Liverpool Bucket list: 20 things to see and do in Liverpool


1. Watch a football match at Anfield or Goodison
Both Stadiums are within easy access from the city centre and tickets can be found here for Anfield and here for Goodison.  Or head across the Mersey to see Tranmere Rovers live in action at Prenton Park.


2. Visit the Cavern Club
A must visit for any live music lover or Beatles fan.  An iconic landmark in Liverpool credited with launching the bands career after performing here back in the 1960s.


3. Shopping spree at Liverpool one
Here you'll find everything from the Lego and Disney store to High end designer shopping on Peters Lane.  You can catch a film in the Odeon cinema or on a nice day sit in Chavasse Park and take in the views.  After this you can treat yourself to food from all over the world from Bill's to Zizzis to Yo Sushi.

4. Ferry across the Mersey
You can jump on and off at your leisure taking time to visit Seacombe's Spaceport or the U-boat stories in Woodside whilst taking in the stunning view of the World Heritage Waterfront. 



5. Visit the museums
The history of Liverpool is to large to contain in just one building and so it has been split up into 5 different museums; The world museum, The museum of Liverpool, The Merseyside Maritime Museum, The International Slavery Museum and The Victoria Gallery and Museum.  As well as a host of smaller museums throughout the city. 


6. See the Everyman Rock 'n' Roll Christmas Pantomime 
This years theme is The Little Mermaid but in previous years, guests have been treated to Little red Riding Hood, Aladdin and Jack & the Beanstalk

7. Go on a ghost tour
Shiverpool run plenty of tours across the city including an abandoned hospital in Newsham Park

8. Visit the Bombed Out Church
Many events take place at this much loved Liverpool Landmark from film viewings to arts and crafts fairs and even beer fairs (and it now has a marquee to keep you dry!)

9. Visit Both Liverpool Cathedral's
Situated on either end of Hope Street, you can take tours of both the Anglican Cathedral and the Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral.  The tower at the Anglican Cathedral offers spectacular views across the city and is open every day

10. Visit the Iron Men statues at Crosby Beach
The beach is home to Anthony Gormley's art installation - 100 life-sized iron men looking out to sea.

11. Visit Speke Hall
The Tudor manor house was restored in the 19th Century and now belongs to the National Trust

12. See a concert at the Echo Arena...
Hosting Live Music, Comedy and sporting events, the 11,000 capacity venue should be a pilgrimage destination for entertainment lovers globally

14. Take a ride on the Liverpool City Bikes
The cycle scheme offers bike hire from more than 140 stations and is the biggest public bicycle hire scheme outside of London.

15. Eat at Yukti
Consistently one of Liverpool's top-rated Indians.  Situated in Old Swan and is contemporary Indian dining with a twist.



16. Go underground in a guided tour of the Williamson Tunnels
Joseph Williams employed hundreds of men to create a maze of tunnels and passageways under Edge Hill, not all of which are open to public touring.  Details of guided tours can be found here.

17. Have a night out in Concert Square
You either love it or hate it but you have to experience it.  Liverpool is known for it's nightlife with concert square being one of the reasons why due the area being home to some of the best known nightclubs and bars in the city (and arguably the North West!).
18. Probe records
Probably the best known record shop in Liverpool.  Located at the Bluecoat on School Lane, it sells new and rare vinyl LPs and singles.

19. Shop on Bold Street
Known for its cafe's and independent shops theres something for everyone from Lebanese street food of Bakchich to Japanese food at Miyagi and American style food at Nolita Cantina.  It's the go-to place for unique finds like funky clothes, records and art; it's well worth spending a few hours browsing all the different shops Bold Street has to offer.

20. Soak in the view from the Radio City Tower
The Viewing Gallery is open 7 days a week and is situated on the same floor which housed the tower restaurant in the 1970s.
